Have a Fresh, Phenomenal Year!

Dear Fresh Angle Reader,

This is to wish you a very happy new year. I pray that 2014 will be a phenomenal year for you in every ramification.

I guess you've been wondering what is going on with this blog - It hasn't been updated since October 2013. I've been wondering the same.

Sometimes - when there is so much in the pipeline - something has to give. In my case, blogging had to take the backburner for a while. But I'm glad I can get back to doing something I love. I consider the platform to debate and exchange ideas a privilege that outweighs any financial rewards (not that I've amassed any - laugh). I may not be able to update Fresh Angle as frequently as I used to, but my new year resolution is to post at least once a month.

By the way, I stumbled upon a few cartoons (below), which I found hilarious. Hope you enjoy them. One thing I can definitely say about new year resolutions is they are worth it.

If you are tempted  to ditch the yearly goal setting exercise, think again. To share with you, a few years back I was reviewing my new year tasks and targets for the past five years, and I discovered that one particular goal kept popping up every year. I hadn't achieved it, and didn't have the capacity to do so at the time, so I struck it off. Two years later, I reluctantly added it on again. As you'd guess, I finally achieved my goal the same year.

I believe that putting your goals on paper subconsciously conditions your mind and aligns your actions to achieve them. I've had many goals that found their way onto my task and target sheet for successive years, but I eventually achieved them.

Anyway, that's enough of me proselytizing.

Thanks for sticking with Fresh Angle.

 Have a great 2014!

  1. Thanks for choosing to get back connected with us Oluchi, I for one will get at least 5 others to join up as my own contribution for the year. As to the writing of yearly goals (tasks and targets) I agree with Fresh Angle totally that it is an asset that shouldn't be overlooked. It makes a big difference sub-consciously. Try this test: over the next 5 days, write certain goals and don't write certain other goals. See which of the tasks that you are going to more likely achieve. As for the cartoons my favourite was the one that said that being left alone helped him/her realise that there were better things in life. Indeed, it is sometimes good to stay by yourself as it will clarify the value of certain people and even your work to you, while helping you see the reduced value of other things and people.

  2. Thank you so much for sticking with Fresh Angle, Felicia, and thank you for your support.

So true. Goals need to be written. I think your suggested experiment will prove the value of writing ones' goals.
