Cartoons for a laugh

Okay, this is not your typical 'cartoons for a laugh'. I laughed at some of the cartoons but I also had a tear in my eye. What do you think?

  2. Hehehe! My funniest was the classroom scene... Smart kid... Nobody wants to die.

  3. @Lanre, yeah. But it is also sad that that should be a child's ambition.

  4. The one of the three grim reapers standing triumphantly on the winners's podium is disturbing yet tragically reflects the statistical reality of AIDS,MALARIA and War as the three biggest killers in Africa.Ironically war is man-made and preventable, HIV/AIDS can be controlled through behavioural change and medicinal resources, and malaria is easily treatable and preventable. So why are we still being threatened by these three preventable menaces in 21st century Africa?

  5. Will, that's a million-dollar question, because nobody has the answer. It is indeed tragic. The onus rests on people like you and me to bring about change. Thanks for your comment.

  6. Funny, but poignant in their language. These cartoons say a lot. So when it comes to careers, the blackman is unskilled for conventional jobs; but only to be a sportsman or singer? Mmmm... fresher angle as always has me thinking in a different way. What's the way, or is there a way out?

  7. Lol, Dlaw. It's a general mindset in Africa that anyone who lacks academic aptitude should be slated for sports. But not all sportsmen/women have IQs of 50. lol. Thanks for your comment.

  8. Lydia, this is great and I just know fresher angle will go places. The cartoons are funny but sad especially those the one about the classroom scene. There is hardly a child in Northern Nigeria who doesn't know about religious crises or Boko Haram. The angle on human rights also got me intrigued. I never even knew there is a new "right to internet access".
